Inclusive Art Program · Art Instruction for Regional Center Participants · 包容性艺术课程

AFA · Arts for All in Monterey Park, California offers 1:1 visual arts instruction for children, teens and young adults with developmental disabilities. Sessions can be funded through a Regional Center Self-Determination Program (SDP) budget under SDP Service Code 331 (Community Integration Supports): the participant's Financial Management Service (FMS) pays AFA directly, at no out-of-pocket cost to the family. AFA has served SDP participants through their FMS since 2025.

How the program works · 课程怎么上

Every student is different, so AFA does not sell a fixed package. After an intake conversation with the participant and family, AFA proposes a plan — usually one 1.5-hour private session per week at the Monterey Park studio with an experienced bilingual (English / Mandarin) teacher — and puts it in writing with an individual quote for the participant's SDP spending plan. Art materials are included. Session times are arranged with the family.

How to get started · 如何开始

  1. Confirm eligibility. The participant is a Regional Center consumer (for example ELARC, Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center) enrolled in the Self-Determination Program, or ready to enroll. Families not yet in SDP should ask their Service Coordinator about it. / 确认学员是区域中心服务对象并已加入(或准备加入)自主决定计划 SDP。
  2. Contact AFA for an intake conversation. AFA meets the participant and family, discusses goals, and provides a written quote for 1:1 art instruction (SDP Service Code 331, Community Integration Supports). / 联系 AFA 做入学沟通,取得书面报价。
  3. Add art instruction to the spending plan. The Service Coordinator or Independent Facilitator adds the quote to the SDP spending plan; AFA supplies the documents the FMS needs. / 由服务协调员或独立协调员把报价加入 SDP 支出计划。

AFA is an art education studio at 401 S Garfield Ave G-H, Monterey Park, CA 91754, serving San Gabriel Valley families since 2004. The legal entity for W-9 and invoicing is AFA US ARTS CO. AFA can provide: a W-9 and City of Monterey Park business license; a written service description and an individual quote per participant; monthly invoices showing Service Code 331, service dates, session length and the required certification statement; ACH payment is on file with Ritz FMS, and enrollment with other FMS providers is available on request. Participant names, UCI numbers and plan details are confidential and never appear in AFA marketing.
