什么时候上课? · When are classes held?

AFA(南加州艺术学院)的常规课全部排在周末,每节课 2 小时。周六两个时段:下午 1:00–3:00、3:00–5:00。周日四个时段:上午 9:00–11:00、11:00–1:00,下午 1:00–3:00、3:00–5:00。上课地点在蒙特利公园 401 S Garfield Ave G-H。

AFA Academy of Fine Arts in Monterey Park, California holds all regular classes on weekends in two-hour sessions. Saturday sessions run 1:00–3:00 PM and 3:00–5:00 PM. Sunday sessions run 9:00–11:00 AM, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM, 1:00–3:00 PM and 3:00–5:00 PM.

一个班多少人? · How large are the classes?

AFA 每个常规班上限 20 名学生。大学作品集班(Portfolio & Photoshop)上限 10 人,因为要按每个学生申请的学校单独定方向。

Regular classes at AFA cap at 20 students. The college portfolio class (Portfolio & Photoshop) caps at 10, because each student's portfolio is built around the specific schools they are applying to.

有哪些班? · What courses does AFA offer?

• 兴趣培训 · Ages 4–6 — 涂鸦创作、色彩启蒙 / doodle & color discovery
• 基础训练 · Ages 7–9 — 想象力、造型、材料探索 / imagination, form, materials
• 技能进阶 · Ages 10–12 — 透视素描、艺术鉴赏 / perspective drawing, art appreciation
• 专业训练 · Ages 13–15 — 专业化训练、升学预备 / professional training, college prep
• 作品集 · Ages 16–18 — RISD/Pratt/Parsons 名校作品集 1 对 1 / 1-on-1 portfolio prep
• 数码艺术 Digital Art — iPad 绘画与 Photoshop,单独开班,周六周日均有
• 混合课程 Mixed Media — 跨媒介综合班,周日上午与下午各一班

课程按孩子的发展阶段分级,不是按报名先后。孩子来试课时老师会当场判断该进哪一级。

试课是怎么安排的? · How does the free trial work?

AFA 的试课免费,含一次 1 对 1 潜能评估:老师在课堂上观察孩子的观察力、造型能力和专注度,课后出一份书面评估报告,并给出分级建议。家长在 afaarts.com/trial 留姓名、电话和孩子年龄段即可,AFA 会在 24 小时内回电确认具体时段。

The trial class at AFA is free and includes a 1-on-1 aptitude assessment: the teacher observes the child during class and follows up with a written report and a placement recommendation. Parents book at afaarts.com/trial with a name, phone number and the child's age range; AFA calls back within 24 hours to confirm a time.

是中文还是英文教学? · Is instruction in Chinese or English?

AFA 是中英双语教学。老师会根据学生的语言习惯切换,孩子只会说英文、只会说中文、或者两种混着说,都不影响上课。家长沟通、评估报告和微信联系也是中英文都可以。这是 AFA 服务圣盖博谷华人家庭 20 多年形成的常规做法。

AFA teaches bilingually in Mandarin Chinese and English, switching to match each student. Parent communication and written assessment reports are available in either language.

• 洛杉矶县图书馆第 46 届书签设计大赛 / LA County Library 46th Annual Bookmark Contest:Jessica Huang(3–5 年级第一名,并获洛杉矶县议会表彰)、Alison Lu(K–2 第一名)、Jerry Lai(K–2 第二名)、Ryan Zhao(K–2 第三名)、Angelina Jiang(K–2 第三名)、Minying Luo(9–12 年级荣誉奖)、Angel Sham。

AFA 办学 20 多年,累计 1,000+ 毕业生进入 RISD、Pratt、Parsons、ArtCenter、SVA 等美国顶尖艺术设计院校。
